Oklahoma City Barons hockey player and Edmonton Oilers prospects Brandon Davidson has successfully completed treatment for testicular cancer and made his return to the ice on Friday night at a home game in the Cox Convention Center.

The 6-foot-1, 202-lb defenseman, who hails from Lethbridge, Alta., last played for the Barons on 28 OCtober in a game against the Texas Stars.

It was then reported back at the beginning of November 2012 that Davidson had been diagnosed with testicular cancer and would begin treatment immediately.

Ultimately, Davidson's treatment included surgical resection and a single round of chemotherapy.

Originally selected by the Edmonton Oilers in the sixth round, 162nd overall in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, Davidson is playing his rookie season in the American Hockey League.
