One hospital works to break the Guinness world record for cervical cancer screenings to help raise awareness:
"Kaiser Permanente hosted a one-day cancer screening for women on Saturday. The event was for Kaiser patients who were late in their annual exam. The screening focused on cervical cancer and breast cancer.
The clinic in Mission Valley was trying to break a Guinness World Record for the most cervical cancer screenings in one location on one day. The previous record was 250.
"The reason that were trying to get a Guinness World Record is really to get the word out on how important it is for women to come in and get a cancer screening that will prevent them from getting something that we can stop the effects of a particular disease," said Dr. Paul Bernstein, the Medical Director for Kaiser."
