Yoga helps adolescent cancer patients and their parents

Pediatric Doc.jpg

According to a study conducted out of the Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota, yoga can play a part in helping juvenile cancer patients and their parents cope with the disease and its treatments.

The study found that many kids and their parents who took part in yoga sessions experienced a decrease in anxiety and an increase in overall well-being. In general they found it relaxing, fun, stress-relieving, and the parents reported that yoga helped them bond with their kids.

While yoga helped cancer patients aged 13-18 and their parents, children aged 7-12 did not experience the same benefits.
