Adenocarcinoma Affects White Males More

White males seem to be greater affected by adenocarcinoma, for an unknown reason:

"Adenocarcinoma accounts for over half of all esophageal cancers and its found primarily in white men; and the incidences have been steadily increasing.

St. Vincent physician Dr. Hugh Burnett says there's not enough concrete evidence as to why it occurs in white males, more so others. What is known is that Barrett's esophagus, many times, leads to adenocarcinoma. It's a condition that affects Tony Williams.

He developed Barrett's, which later lead to adenoncarcinoma. Acid reflux, over time may damage the esophagus and lead to Barrett's. Williams says some of his symptoms include pain in swallowing, pain in the chest or back, hoarse voice or cough that doesn't go away after 2 weeks."
