Prostate cancer test potentially far superior to PSA

A research team is claiming is has identified as many as 15 biomarkers that distinguish prostate cancer from benign prostate disease and healthy tissue with an astonishing accuracy of up to 90 percent.

Oxford Gene Technology presented the results of its work at the recent American Association for Cancer Research International Conference on Molecular Diagnostics in Cancer Therapeutic Development as an abstract.

Currently, prostate cancer diagnosis relies on a rectal examination and tests for a single biomarker, known as PSA (prostate-specific antigen), which has a much lower accuracy percentage.
