Warren Buffet diagnosed with prostate cancer

The man they call 'The Oracle of Omaha', Warren Buffet, one of the wealthiest people in the world, has announced that he's been diagnosed with early-stage prostate cancer.

Buffet, who heads up the investment firm Berkshire Hathaway, sent a letter to the company's shareholders informing them of his diagnosis.

Wrote Buffet, "The good news is that I’ve been told by my doctors that my condition is not remotely life-threatening or even debilitating in any meaningful way. I received my diagnosis last Wednesday. I then had a CAT scan and a bone scan on Thursday, followed by an MRI today. These tests showed no incidence of cancer elsewhere in my body."

The 81 year old billionaire will undergo radiation treatments this summer, but otherwise doesn't expect any problems.

The cancer was found following a standard PSA test, which indicated elevated levels of the prostate-specific antigen. A biopsy confirmed what the PSA test suggested.
